Dear Parents and Carers, Students and Friends,

This Spring Term, we began our Higher Education Events to inform students about the UCAS application process and the support that the College offers. The Higher Education Evening on Thursday 14 March was an in-college event for 6.1 parents/carers to hear from our Director of Progression Guidance, Anna Young, and learn about the UCAS application process and what support Esher provides students thinking about university.

The Higher Education Day held on Thursday 21 March is the annual event where we welcomed 80 institutions into the Sports Hall. It is an excellent opportunity for students and their parents/carers to speak with university representatives to find out about their courses and institutions and begin planning for life ‘After Esher’.

After the February half term, our 6.2 students took Formal Exams to help them prepare for their final exams and assessments in May and June. Gaining experience of both examinations and the process was vital for our students to help ensure that they fulfil their potential. Their final Progress Review 6 reports were made available on the parent portal from Friday 22 March and reflect the grade students achieved in their 6.2 Formal Exams.

In the spirit of supporting good causes, I would like to highlight the efforts of our students and staff in donating festive food hampers to the East Elmbridge Food Bank and raising money for Shelter through the Student Union Winter Fair. The College also continues to support AIDS orphans in rural Zimbabwe through our registered charity ECAT, helping with school and examination fees. You can find out more and donate via the College website.

Wishing you all a safe and happy Easter break.

Dan Hards
Principal
