Physics Olympiad Group Shot

It’s been another fantastic year at the British Physics Olympiad with two students from Esher Sixth Form College achieving Gold in the main Olympiad for the first time.

Amongst the cohort of outstanding participants, there were seven students in total who won awards, showcasing their exceptional talent and dedication to the field of physics. Along with Billy Bletcher and Luke Wiggins who secured the prestigious Gold awards, Xavier Goraieb-Seaborn and Sam Scoggins earned Silver awards and Archie Lewis, Alvin Ogwu, and Nicole Elliot (who unfortunately missed the photo opportunity!) achieved Bronze awards, highlighting their commendable efforts and achievements.

The British Physics Olympiad, held annually and hosted by The University of Oxford, serves as a platform to challenge Physics A Level students across the nation. Participants are tested through two rigorous 80-minute exams covering Physics A Level curriculum.

We’re proud to offer this opportunity to all our 6:2 Physics A Level students. With Gold awards only being attained by the top 16% nationally, it’s truly remarkable that a quarter of our Esher Sixth Form College entrants achieved this prestigious recognition.

On behalf of the College, congratulations to all our amazing award winners and their talented teachers!
