As we bring another busy and successful academic year to a close, I would like to thank everyone across the Esher Sixth Form College community for the energy, commitment and support shown throughout the year.

For our 6.2 students, the Summer Term has marked the culmination of two years of hard work, with final A Level and vocational examinations and assessments now completed. Students approached this demanding period with maturity, determination, and resilience. We are enormously proud of everything they have achieved during their time at Esher and wish them every success as they await their results and prepare for the next stage of their lives.

For our 6.1 students, the term has brought a strong focus on personal development, progression, and preparation for the future. Wider Skills activities and trips have enabled students to step beyond their usual timetables, broaden their experience, and develop confidence, independence, and teamwork. From creative and performance-based workshops to cultural visits, international trips and subject-focused activities, students have embraced opportunities to explore new environments and challenge themselves.

Work experience and the Internship Programme have also been central to the term. These opportunities allow students to test their interests, understand workplace expectations, and begin developing the skills and professional relationships that will support their future progression. I would like to thank the many employers, organisations, families, and colleagues who have helped make these experiences possible.

We were particularly delighted to learn that the College has achieved the prestigious Quality in Careers Standard at the highest possible level. This national award recognises excellence in careers education, information, advice and guidance. The external assessment praised the College’s strategic and collaborative approach, the personalised support available to students and the way careers education is embedded within our wider educational mission. It is an outstanding achievement and a fitting recognition of the work undertaken across the College to ensure every student can make informed and ambitious decisions about their future.

The term has also provided opportunities to celebrate student creativity and achievement. The Esher Oscars brought students together to recognise exceptional work produced in Media, Film and Photography. The quality, imagination and technical accomplishment on display were remarkable, providing a fitting celebration of how far our students have developed.

As the year concludes, what stands out most is the breadth of experiences our students have embraced. Alongside their academic studies, they have created, performed, travelled, volunteered, undertaken placements and supported one another.

Thank you to our staff for their expertise, care, and dedication, to parents and carers for their continued support, and above all to our students for the enthusiasm, ambition, and character they bring to the College.

I wish everyone a safe, restful, and enjoyable summer break.
