Jazz & Recital Evening
The Jazz & Recital Evening hit the right note in April and celebrated the musical talent and hard work of 6.1 and 6.2 students across Jazz Band, Music A Level, and Music Production courses.
The evening featured an exciting programme of performances, showcasing a wide range of styles and ensemble work. The Jazz Band—an Extension Studies course led by Esher Music teacher and trumpeter Paul Jenkins—set the tone for a fantastic evening.
Music A Level students impressed audiences as they completed their Unit 1 Recital exam (worth 30% of their final grade). Their performances demonstrated both technical skill and artistic development built over months of preparation.
A highlight of the evening was the collaboration between Music A Level and Music Production students, who came together in ensembles and duets to produce polished and creative performances, reflecting strong cross-course teamwork.
The event was supported by a dedicated student tech crew who managed the sound desk throughout the evening.
Special thanks were also given to Tracey Symon for accompanying rehearsals, recordings, and live performances, alongside staff members Paul Jenkins and Bronwen Peacock for their continued guidance and commitment.
