Esher College is a highly successful, open access, non-selective Sixth Form College situated in Thames Ditton, near Hampton Court, Surrey.
We are one of the few colleges in the country to achieve ‘Outstanding’ in all areas of our last two full Ofsted inspections and we were awarded Beacon Status in 2005. Esher College has a reputation for delivering exceptional results and we pride ourselves on creating a friendly, vibrant and purposeful atmosphere for all students.
Choosing where to study your A Levels or BTEC courses is an important decision and one of the biggest you will have had to make since choosing your GCSE options. During your interview, staff at Esher College will give you support and guidance to help you make the right choices for your programme of study.
When you join Esher College you will become part of a community of over 1700 full-time students from 100 different schools. You will follow an individual learning programme relevant to your needs and ambitions. At Esher College you will be treated more like an adult than you would be at school, although the level of support remains the same. You will have a personal tutor and access to individual subject clinics and one-to-one tutorials. We offer an extensive range of A Level and BTEC courses and virtually any combination of courses is possible. There is also a wide range of complementary activities on offer, alongside your studies. These include a number of sporting activities and team games, music, dance, drama, Young Enterprise, Duke of Edinburgh and much more.
We believe that education is not just about academic success, but also about preparing you to be a responsible, informed citizen with respect for yourself and others.
To this end, Equality and Diversity is at the forefront of what we do. Esher College has a proven track record in enabling students from all backgrounds to reach their full potential.
The College has an outstanding reputation for progression after you have finished your studies, with around 90% of our students going on to Higher Education each year and a large proportion of these going to top universities. Research shows that Esher College students are highly successful when compared to other institutions*
Onsite facilities are some of the best available in the area, having benefited from a comprehensive campus development programme in recent years, including a purpose built Music Technology building which opened in 2014 and a brand new College Café. There are specialist facilities for all subjects, with IT access and projectors in every room, two large Learning Resource
Centres, including a library with extensive computer access, a Theatre and a Drama Studio. We also have a large Sports Hall, where you will have free access to an on-site gym, and free, high speed WiFi is available throughout the College. We are fortunate in having a large, landscaped campus, with tennis courts and playing fields, which becomes extremely popular when the sun shines and is the setting for our Leavers’ Day event at the end of each year.
All staff at Esher College are specialists in delivering post-16 education, both in teaching their subjects and in the support they provide through the tutorial system. Teaching staff are knowledgeable and passionate about their subject areas, and are committed to helping you achieve your full potential.
