On a very cold and wet Wednesday 9th March, the Men’s hockey squad travelled up to Cannock HC to play Shrewsbury College in the semi-final of the National Hockey Cup.

After a long journey the team were initially unprepared and went 1-0 down in the first few minutes, however, after the first half the team had fully established themselves on the pitch.  Two penalty short corners later, scored by captain Matt Chappell, and a fantastic goal, scored by Lawrence Oldham on his debut, meant the team Won 3-2! They have now successfully progressed into the National Cup final, which will be played at Nottingham University on April 26th where they will meet Peter Symonds college.

The mixed hockey squad are also through to the semi-finals and are due to play Exeter College at home on March 23rd!
