Director of Progression Guidance at Esher, Nicola Wilberforce, hosted our Higher Education Evening talk for parents, available to watch on our YouTube channel, with advice and guidance about why young people should go to university? How to apply? And how Esher Sixth Form College supports them.

Guest speaker and CEO of 8billionideas, David Harkin, talked about his mission to give every student the skills to change the world.  In partnership with Esher Sixth Form College, 8billionideas has launched The Internship 2021 programme where students can take part in a three-day Internship in June where they will hear from guest speakers from IBM, LinkedIn and the startup community.

David said, “While the pandemic has seen many industries destroyed, we have seen industries redefined and created. We are still living in an exciting world of opportunity for young people. But the key skill they need will be creativity. Businesses will need entrepreneurs on an everyday process. The Internship 2021 will be fast-paced, high-tempo and we will treat students as consultants and for three days, embed them in our work place."
