We are excited to announce that we have recently joined the Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) hub programme, to further support our aspiring medicine students. This partnership with BSMS opens up a world of opportunities for our students, offering a comprehensive and tailored programme designed to deepen their understanding of the medical field and inspire success in their medical school applications.

The programme, spanning across multiple sessions, is crafted to guide students through the intricacies of the medical school admissions process within the NHS. These sessions will provide invaluable insights and hands-on experiences to ignite passion and prepare students for a future in medicine.

The inaugural session, titled “A Journey through the NHS,” unfolded last week with eager participation from our enthusiastic Chemistry students and year 11 students from Esher C of E High School. The session commenced with an engaging overview of the NHS and its core values, setting the stage for an immersive exploration of the healthcare system.

The highlight of the session was a real-life case study; from the initial GP visit to the intricacies of clinical investigations, treatment procedures, and concluding with palliative care. Students actively participated in discussions, gaining insights into the collaborative efforts of various healthcare team members.

The journey has only just begun, and we are eagerly anticipating the enriching experiences that await our students in the upcoming sessions with BSMS. As they embark on this educational journey, we are confident that the programme will not only provide a solid foundation for their medical aspirations but also foster a deep passion for the world of medicine.
