Esher College has a genuine commitment to environmental issues and strives to adopt a more sustainable ‘footprint’
We have an Environmental Champion who has co-ordinated a number of initiatives with students and staff, as well as working with the local community. These include the improvement of on-site recycling, the development of an allotment and garden site and liaison with the College Café caterers to reduce waste.
In 2015, we achieved the Eco Schools Silver award. The Student Union's Eco Executive at the time, Jack Lewis, was instrumental in the College's achievement of this award.
Cycling is a very popular mode of transport with students and this is actively encouraged with purpose-built bicycle storage area.
Each year we hold a ‘Green Week’, which includes activities to raise awareness of environmental issues and sustainability. With our current and future building work, we look at sustainability and energy efficiency which includes solar panelling.
