There are many good practices that are carried out within the college environment

All classrooms have a paper recycling box, plastic and cans recycling bins are placed around the college, and their usage is reviewed annually.

The staff in the LRC (Learning Resource Centre) regularly go out to tender on the college paper suppliers. Our current supplier, MWS provides us with a good quality white sheet at a very competitive price which is an environmentally friendly paper called Logic. MWS also supply our coloured paper that is sourced from sustainable forests. We are constantly looking at ways to reduce the amount of paper usage within the college.

Book Recycling

The Librarian & Learning Resources Manager has arranged for Better World Books to regularly take old library books and dispose of them.

Staff also actively encourage recycling in the LRC and have four green recycling bins around the printers and desks. During Green week there is a display of Environmental/conservational resources across the curriculum, and also hosts the Unplugged Gig.

The Café wins Silver Award - May 2014. We are pleased to report that the excellent service provided by Independent Catering, the College caterers, has been recognised through the award of a Silver Certificate by the Soil Association for food provenance. The kitchen was also given top marks for food hygiene.
