“I like being more responsible for myself and my time. I have my own personalised timetable, and I can fit my other interests into my weekly routine along with my A Levels. It feels like a great stepping-stone for university.”

At College you have a different relationship with your teachers. It’s more mature and you’re treated like an adult. The teachers are specialists in their subjects and everyone has chosen to study the subject, so it’s a great classroom experience.

There are so many opportunities and extra-curricular activities to get involved in and that really appealed to me. I am doing Duke of Edinburgh Gold for my Extension Study and just did my third day canoeing as we get ready for the expeditions. I also take advantage of Maths drop-in clinics during lunchtimes – if I am not socialising with my friends.

I am a dancer and compete at national level. I train 5 days a week, so I like having the flexibility to fit this around my A Levels study programme. I am also learning to drive, so my schedule is full, but it’s great being able to structure the week with everything that interests me most.
