Our Study Centre works with subject teachers to ensure that the individual learning needs of all students are identified and met.
This process begins by prospective students explaining their needs in their application form. We provide targeted support for students with specific learning difficulties and/or disabilities. They may include physical and sensory disabilities, dyslexia, dyspraxia, Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASDs), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and mental ill health. Where appropriate, we will ensure that additional time or other access arrangements in examinations will be given.
We work with Local Authorities to support students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP), in transition to and from College. The College is creative in its support of individual needs, providing a range of opportunities for all students. We are extremely proud of the provision we offer and of the inclusive attitude of the student community. Learning Support is part of a strong Student Services team, which works closely with mental health support services and other link agencies. Overall support for students was highly praised by Ofsted, judging that "support for students is excellent".
