What is an Alumni
Alumni are simply former students of a school or college, and being an alumni means staying connected.
Fun fact: The word alumni comes from Latin and originally meant “to nourish” — because schools and colleges help grow minds, not just grades.
The word can be used in different forms:
- Alumnus – one male former student
- Alumna – one female former student
- Alumni – a group of former students (male or mixed groups)
- Alumnae – a group of female former students
Today, “alumni” is commonly used as a gender-neutral term for all former students.
Who Are Our Alumni?
Alumni are our former students, who studied at Esher Sixth Form College. Whether you left Esher last year or decades ago, you will always be part of our college community.
