Netball 1st Team’s Stellar Season
This season so far, the Esher College 1st Netball Team has demonstrated exceptional talent, resilience, and determination, currently holding 1st place in the Surrey Sixth Form League with 15 points after securing 5 wins and just 1 loss.
Coach, Cate Hamilton, reports.

The team, captained by second-year student Daisy and supported by Vice Captain and PE A Level student Sophia, welcomed many new first year players this season.
The squad boasts a well-balanced dynamic, with an exceptional defensive line consistently disrupting opposition plays through sharp interceptions and tight marking. The centre court players, led by Daisy and Sophia, provide agility and tactical insight, linking play fluidly between defence and attack. Meanwhile, the attacking unit’s relentless drive and creative play make them a constant threat, delivering crucial points in high-pressure moments.
One of the team’s standout qualities is their “bounce-back ability.” Early in the season, challenging matches in the Sisters in Sport league tested the team’s resolve. Rather than faltering, they used these experiences as opportunities to grow, refine their strategy, and return to the court stronger and more determined. This resilience has played a crucial role in their impressive performances throughout the Surrey Sixth Form League.
This unique combination of adaptability, teamwork, and skill positions the team for continued success. As the season progresses, the squad remains focused on maintaining their top standing and pushing for even greater accomplishments.
“I am incredibly proud of their journey so far and look forward to what lies ahead for the rest of the season.”
