Exam Results 2026

The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) National Benchmark 2026 analyses pass rates for all A Level subjects across the UK and shows how Esher Sixth Form College students are consistently performing above the national level.

A Level Exam Results 2026 (including Extended Project Qualifications)

• 98.1% overall pass rate (+0.5% above the JCQ National Benchmark)
• 58.8% grades awarded A* to B (+2.3% above the JCQ National Benchmark)

University Destinations 2026

• Well done to our 662 students who have achieved their first choice of university place.
• 84% of students achieving their first or insurance place.
• 12 students take their place at Oxbridge

Oxbridge Success

We are delighted that a record-breaking 12 students will be taking their place at Oxford or Cambridge universities this September.  Five students will be starting courses in Design, Engineering, History, Law and Medicine at Cambridge University. While seven students starting at Oxford University are set to study Computer Science, English Language and Literature, Law, Medicine and Music.

Ailís Kane, our Oxbridge Co-ordinator says, “It’s gratifying to see that our comprehensive Oxbridge programme – which starts from the second term of starting Esher with university trips, to our summer programme, tailored personal statement and interview support – has really helped these students fulfil their potential. All the students have worked so hard at Esher and we know they will thrive at university.”

 

Fanatic About Film

During their two years at Esher, Ben, Finn, Atticus and Barney found friendship and a shared love of film via their Digital Film and Video Production BTEC course. Three of them are now off to Arts University Bournemouth to do Film Production, while Finn sets his path for Nottingham Trent University to do Graphics.

 

Duo Top in the Country for Art

Congratulations to two of our art students who achieved the highest marks in Cambridge OCR A Level Art and Design: Fine Art A Level this summer. Luna, pictured with her art teachers here, and Jake have both been congratulated by the exam board for the exceptional quality of their A Level Fine Art work.
Madeleine Osikoya, Head of Fine Art, said, ” Both students demonstrated incredible dedication, commitment and drive throughout the course, pushing themselves to develop highly original and personal bodies of work. They invested huge amounts of time in refining their skills across a wonderfully diverse range of media, truly showcasing the multidisciplinary nature of A Level Fine Art. We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved and wish them both every success as they continue their artistic journeys on the Art Foundation course at Kingston University. We can’t wait to see where their creativity takes them next! “

 

It’s a London Thing

Our outgoing Student Union came together one last time at Esher Results Day and discovered that they are all (nearly) heading for the Capital.  Flora is off to do Social Anthropology at London School of Economics; Thea is going to study Law at SOAS, School of Oriental and African Studies, Kyle is studying media and communications at King’s College London; Emma is off to University College London to study Politics and International Relations; only Alisha and Oliver are bucking the trend with Alisha off to the University of Nottingham to study Philosophy Politics and Economics and Oliver to Reading after securing a scholarship to study building and conveyancing.

 

Apprenticeships, Engineering and Construction

It was smiles all round when Lex, Oliver and Dan (L-R) collected their results.
Dan who took Fashion and Textiles, Business and English Language A Levels will begin an apprenticeship with Unilever in September, while Lex goes on to do Design Engineering at Bristol University and Oliver takes up his place at Reading University to do Building and Construction.  Lex who took, Maths, Physics and Chemistry said, “Esher was splendid. I believe it was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. I had to go through a massive studying burnout but ended up wiser for the better of it.  It was a learning experience of a lifetime!”

 

Nottingham Beckons

Ethan and Alisha couldn’t be happier after confirming they will both be off to the same university and the same halls of residence!  Alisha, who came to us from Notre Dame School, to take Philsophy, Economics and French says, “Esher was a good stepping stone between school and university. Results Day has been very positive for me, as I managed to get my first choice and go to University of Nottingham to study PPE, which was my goal.” Ethan  who came to us from Esher High, will be studying Pure Maths at the same university added, “Esher was lots and lots of fun, some of the best two years of my life and I made lifelong friends. My Esher Highlight was the Economics trip to New York, which was an amazing experience.”

 

Gap Year

Photography Student Scarlett, who achieved one of the highest marks in Photography, says her A Level results have opened up so many more options for her. Scarlett, who also studied Film Studies and History, says she wants to go travelling first and then apply to some top universities to study Media. She added: “Esher was an exciting time for me, with all the opportunities offered, I made some great friendships with students and my teachers. My advice to my 16-year-old self would be ‘Don’t panic about exams! Trust your knowledge and take any opportunity that comes knocking.'”

 

Following your Dreams

Physic students Dan and Isaac met on a Physics A Level trip to CERN , which Isaac says was one of the highlights of his time at Esher. While Dan is pursuing a maritime engineering course at Southampton University, Issac is swapping the scientific for the creative and going to Kingston University to study Interior Design.  “A Levels have got me where I want to be,” he said.
