Biology Students Explore the Future of Ethical Science at National Conference
Biology A Level and Human Biology vocational students from both 6.1 and 6.2 enjoyed a remarkable learning experience on 6 November 2025 as they attended the Animal Aid Future of Science Conference.
The morning programme featured talks from leading researchers at the forefront of ethical, human-relevant science. Students heard from experts including Dr Dania Movia and Professor Blanca Rodriguez, who highlighted the growing impact of data-driven and computational medicine. They also learned from Rebecca Ram, Carol Treasure and Tom Ward, who discussed cutting-edge developments in animal-free research and the creation of fully animal-free laboratories.
In the afternoon, students took part in practical workshops led by industry innovators such as LUSH, XCellR8 and InterNICHE. Activities ranged from making LUSH products and carrying out safety testing to exploring artificial models used in veterinary surgery.
The event proved eye-opening and inspirational, giving learners a vivid insight into the rapidly evolving world of ethical science and the pioneering technologies shaping its future.
