On 1st December, 25 Music A Level Students attended the Schools Matinee of Verdi’s Il Trovatore at the Royal Opera House. Before the performance they took part in a vocal masterclass with three of the opera singers, learnt the famous Anvil Chorus and staged a scene from the Verdi Opera. The students thoroughly enjoyed the activity and many of them are interested in continuing their Music education after A Levels and are exploring a variety of Music related degree courses. There were also aspiring opera singers amongst the group who found the workshop very inspiring. The Opera was fantastic and ended with a display of pyrotechnics and a metal framed heart broke into flames!
