On Thursday 20th October, 12 of our Higher Sports Leader students travelled to Cobham RFC.  The HSLA students spent the day volunteering at the Surrey Special Schools Tag Rugby Competition.   During their time at the event the students supported the schools by providing warm ups for the teams, along with some fun drills to keep them warm between matches.  All the students demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and were commended by the event organisers and teachers involved.  Matt Painter was individually commended by West Hill School for his mature and outstanding leadership.

The Higher Sports Leader enrichment course allows the students the opportunity to put their leadership, organisational, motivational and communicational skills into practice.  As part of the course students complete 30 hours of volunteering in the sports community, including both disability and elderly sport.
