Students taking legacy ‘unreformed’ A Levels have an opportunity to resit most AS units in their second year at Esher College as those marks contribute towards their final A level grade.
Practical, oral, or coursework resits are not automatically available and must be approved by the Head of Department or Course Leader.
Resits are requested and paid for through WisePay, our college payment system. The date that WisePay opens and the deadline for payment can be found on our Key Dates page. There is a variable charge dependent on the unit and exam board and a late fee of £20.00 added to each unit between the standard fee deadline and when Wise Pay closes. Students are advised to discuss their intention to resit with their subject teachers or Tutor, and careful consideration should be given to overall exam load across all subjects.
Students taking new reformed A level subjects should not apply for a resit of their AS level if continuing that subject through their second year. Individual papers cannot be taken, only the entire qualification, and AS results do not contribute to the final A level grade. Students not carrying through a subject to the second year and wishing to improve their AS grade should seek the advice of their subject teacher.
We regret that we are unable to offer former students the opportunity to resit qualifications at Esher College. Former students are advised to contact their previous schools or the following local centres who may accept private candidates.
