Circuit training gives you the opportunity to keep fit and add some movement to your day.

A range of exercises, using a variety of equipment will enhance your fitness in an enjoyable environment. 

Sessions will be delivered by a qualified fitness instructor.

Motivational teaching will rapidly improve your overall fitness. 

Futsal

Indoor Football Player With Ball

Futsal is a variant of Association Football played on a hard, indoor court which is smaller than a football pitch. 

Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper.

Futsal is also played with a smaller, harder, low-bounce ball with the emphasis is on improvisation, creativity and technique.

This option is great for those who enjoy football and want to pick up a new sport while improving fitness.

There will be one session per week in the college sports hall.

5-a-side Football

For those footballers who do not want to play for a college football team, but still enjoy football as recreation.

This course will take place weekly in the sports hall and consist of competitive games, warm up and skills practice.

You will develop skills throughout the year and improve fitness through drills and match play.

All participants/players must bring the appropriate kit, including non-marking footwear.

Pilates

Pilates is a method of exercise named after its creator, Joseph Pilates. 

Unlike an aerobic or high impact class, we give time to really emphasise good postural alignment, core strength and better breath control. It’s a floor-based workout, on the mat, and will help you to improve your flexibility, strength, and give you greater body awareness.

Racquet Sports

Racquet sports will provide opportunities to develop skills and strategies through participation in tennis, badminton and table tennis. 

The sessions will be structured within a fun learning environment whereby students enhance their performance in these sports through coached activities and significant amounts of game play. 

You will also develop an understanding of the rules of these sports.

Sessions will be led by an experienced teacher and take place on a weekly basis.

Workout

Workout is a designated session for students who wish to use the college’s fitness suite to improve body conditioning and general health and fitness. 

A qualified fitness instructor will help you with the design your programme and support you in the achievement of your goals. 

There will be one session per week.

Yoga

Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. The main components of yoga are postures and breathing. This is a great option for those who are looking to relax and de-stress. 

This course welcomes all levels of ability and would be perfect for someone looking to try something new.

Membership of a college sports team is a long course that will last for two terms. To try out for a team, please see the trial dates below:

Community Sports Leader

The Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership is a nationally recognised qualification that enables students to lead groups of people in sport/activity, under indirect supervision. It is a fun and practical qualification with no entrance requirements or final examinations to sit.

You will have the opportunity to work with local primary schools to deliver sports sessions in a range of sports. 

The qualification will teach you essential leadership skills such as:  

  • Organisation
  • Planning
  • Communication
  • Teamwork
  • Confidence​

Men's Basketball

The basketball squad competes in the Surrey Sixth Form Colleges league and also enters the Association of Colleges cup competition. The standard is high with many squad members playing at a high level for their club sides.

The team will have one training session each week and play fixtures on a Wednesday afternoon.

Both male and female students are eligible to play in the team.

A-Level PE students who intend to be assessed in this sport are expected to join the team.

Trials will be held in the college sports hall on 5th September at 2.30pm

Costs involved: £40. All students in the squads for sports teams must pay a sports affiliation fee towards the costs of coach transport, match kit, match officials, and competition entries. There is an option to purchase additional sports kit should you wish to.

Women's Basketball

We run a women’s basketball squad who train once per week to develop essential skills, fitness and tactical awareness of the game.

We are keen to take on players of all ability levels and welcome those who want to try basketball for the first time.

There are some friendly fixtures throughout the year and also the Association of Colleges regional tournament that we enter. 

A-Level PE students who intend to be assessed in this sport are expected to join the team.

Men's Football

The College has five football squads who compete in the Surrey Sixth Form Colleges league as well as AoC and ESFA competitions. The standard within the squads is particularly high with many playing at a high level for their club sides. 

The team will have one training session each week and play fixtures on a Wednesday afternoon.

Trials will be held on Thursday 31st August (2pm) and Tuesday 5th September (2.30pm).

A-Level PE students who intend to be assessed in this sport are expected to join the team.

Women's Football

We run one Women’s Football Team who compete in the Surrey Sixth Form Colleges league and also enter the ESFA and AoC national cup competitions. The standard of play is high and most players also represent teams outside of college.

The team will have one training session each week and play fixtures on a Wednesday afternoon.

Trials will be held on Thursday 31st August (2pm) on the college 3G pitch.

A-Level PE students who intend to be assessed in this sport are expected to join the team.

Men's Rugby

The 1st XV competes in the Surrey Sixth Form Colleges league and also enters the Association of Colleges (AOC) cup competition and the national NatWest Schools Cup. There is also a regional 7’s competition.

The standard of play is excellent and many of the students involved play to a high standard for their club sides at the weekend. 

The team will have one training session each week and play fixtures on a Wednesday afternoon.

Trials will be held on Thursday 31st August (2pm) and Tuesday 5th September (2.30pm) on the college rugby pitch.

A-Level PE students who intend to be assessed in this sport are expected to join the team.

Costs involved: £40. All students in the squads for sports teams must pay a sports affiliation fee towards the costs of coach transport, match kit, match officials, and competition entries. There is an option to purchase additional sports kit should you wish to.

Women's Netball

There are three netball squads who compete in the Surrey Sixth Form Colleges league and also enter the AoC national cup competition. The standard of play is very high and many of the players compete to a high standard outside of college. 

The team will have one training session each week and play fixtures on a Wednesday afternoon.

Trials will be held on Tuesday 5th September (2.30pm) on the college netball courts.

A-Level PE students who intend to be assessed in this sport are expected to join the team.

Women's Netball Development

Are you looking to learn a new sport? Or perhaps are looking to develop your skills in netball?  If so, girls netball is for you!

We run a Girls Netball Development Squad, which involves weekly training sessions with a top-level coach. You will develop a range of skills and have the opportunity to apply these skills to a competitive situation. 

We are keen to take on players of all ability levels and welcome those who want to try netball for the first time! We are looking to participate in competitive fixtures once the team starts to develop.

Mixed Hockey

The College has two mixed teams which play regularly against other schools and colleges on Wednesday afternoons in the Association of College’s league. The team also compete in National cup competition for Men’s, Women’s and mixed teams. The standard is high with many squad members playing at a good level for their club sides. 

Players are regulated nominated for England Colleges Hockey trials.

The team will have one training session each week and play fixtures on a Wednesday afternoon.

Trials will be held on Thursday 31st August (2pm) at Old Cranleighans Hockey Club.

A-Level PE students who intend to be assessed in this sport are expected to join the team.
