Singing for fun

It helps to relieve stress and, because it is safe, it is ideal for all age groups.

Aromatherapy – an Introduction

​This introduction to aromatherapy will teach you how to use Essential Oils for health and wellbeing. You will learn how and why Essential Oils work, how we can use them to create products, perfumes and remedies for common ailments. You will learn a basic aromatherapy foot, hand and head treatment incorporating pressure point and massage techniques to relax the body, and calm the mind. Aromatherapy is an ancient healing art that is just as relevant and useful in our lives today.

This course runs on Monday nights at 19:00-21:00 and lasts for 3 weeks.

Beginners Guide to Meditation

​A beginner’s introduction to the practice of meditation, the course will explore the history and theory of meditation. It will examine different techniques to develop awareness, mindfulness, relaxation and calm. The course combines teaching with practical work to practise meditation exercises that can be used as part of our busy and stressful lives.

This course runs on Monday nights at 19:00-21:00 and lasts for 5 weeks.

Helping Adolescents manage anxiety

​This two hour workshop is aimed at parents of young people aged 15+, in order to help them understand and support their sons/daughters with anxiety.  The course is both informative and practical, with time for questions and reflection.

Indian Head Massage - an Introduction

​​Indian Head Massage is an essential component of the Ayurvedic healing system that has been part of Indian family rituals for thousands of years. An Introduction to Indian Head Massage is a beginners’ course that will teach you how to carry out a basic Indian Head Massage treatment. You will learn simple massage and pressure point techniques to relax and balance the body and the mind. The massage routine will concentrate on the shoulders, arms, neck, head and face. The course will examine the anatomy of the upper body and head and the history, theory and philosophy of Indian Head Massage. Classes combine teaching with practical work, where you will practise a treatment routine on each other. A College Certificate of completion will be awarded at the end of the course.

Introduction to Map Reading

​Learn to read a map, use a compass and plan your own walks in the country. A lifelong skill which will build confidence and fitness. Taught by a qualified mountain leader, the course comprises one evening theory session and one practical full day out where you will use skills learned and some natural navigation techniques. On completion of the course you will be able to plan a walk and lead a group of friends.

This course runs over 2 days, Wednesday night at 19:00-21:00 and Saturday at 10:00-15:00.

Reflexology – an Introduction

​Reflexology is one of the oldest known methods of natural healing used by many ancient civilisations including India, China and Egypt. An Introduction to Reflexology is a beginners’ course that will teach you how to carry out a basic reflexology treatment. You will learn gentle and effective techniques to relax the body and assist it to heal and balance itself. You will be introduced to the foot body map in order to locate the body’s systems. The course will examine the anatomy of the foot and the history, theory and philosophy of Reflexology. Classes combine teaching with practical work where you will practise a treatment routine on each other. A College Certificate of completion will be awarded at the end of the course.

Tai Chi for Health Intermediate

​A course for exploring Tai Chi in depth based on the Sun Style 73 Form, suitable for those with at least a year’s experience in Tai Chi.

There will be time for participants to practise Forms already learnt, such as the Yang Style 24 and Sword Forms.

The tutor is a Master Trainer for the Tai Chi for Health Institute.

These courses run on Wednesday nights 19.15 - 20.45
