Esher College has exceeded all my expectations, and from day one, I knew I had made the right decision
I decided to come to Esher College as I wanted a change from a school environment. Although over the summer I was worried about making the move, Esher College has exceeded all my expectations, and from day one, I knew I had made the right decision. The atmosphere here is fantastic; the teachers have all been really friendly and welcoming right from the start, and there is a genuinely supportive camaraderie between us all. Every student is encouraged to take part in a fun activity and, as I play drums, I have joined a College band. The teaching in all four of my subjects is to a very high standard. There are extra language classes for those who want to reinforce or extend their studies.
The English department arranges trips on a regular basis and we have the option of spending some time in Stratford upon Avon, attending workshops and plays at the Royal Shakespeare Company, in preparation for the Shakespeare element of the A2 syllabus.
I am hoping to apply to university to study French and German, and in the university application process, Esher College is also very supportive; in March we have a ‘University Information’ evening, with representatives from over 90 universities coming to College to provide guidance on the UCAS application process and in January, an admissions tutor from one of the Cambridge colleges came to give a lecture on the Oxbridge admissions procedure, for any students thinking of applying to Oxford or Cambridge.
