Even though there are so many other students here, I still feel that I am treated as an individual and that the teachers care about my future as much as I do
I had high expectations for Esher College because of its positive reputation, from the supportive teachers and friendly students, to the great course content, especially in Art & Design. Esher has allowed me to pursue my passion for Art, whilst meeting many different kinds of people and making friendships that I know will last forever. When I first joined Esher I was scared and over-whelmed, but I quickly adapted to College life and felt welcomed by all the teachers and fellow students.
Highlights of my time here include the supportive teachers, who will help with any ambitions we have, and the excellent workshop which has state-of-the-art equipment allowing us to design or make anything we like, with only a little help, and giving us experience and greater knowledge. Using the workshop and the Art classrooms freely has enabled me to widen my understanding of a broad range of art materials, including different ways of printing using the printing press. It has also furthered my knowledge by using software such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Edge Animate.
Completing the Art & Design course I have been able to go on many trips, including the Cass Sculpture Park and the V&A Museum, where we worked on a live brief, and there was even a trip to Florence, in Italy. Even though there are so many other students here, I still feel that I am treated as an individual and that the teachers care about my future as much as I do. I aim to pursue a career in the Graphic Design industry by first taking a BA (Hons) Graphic Design course at University, and Esher College has helped me to apply to the top universities within my field, including Arts University Bournemouth and Kingston University. My teachers helped me put together a fantastic portfolio and I have gained an offer from my first choice University.
